Sabres Pull Back to Back Stinkers in Florida as They Fall to Tampa Bay 3-1

The Sabres are playing like a team that has nothing to play for. Their play looks uninspired and they don't know how to score.

Actually, that's giving the Sabres too much credit. The Sabres just plain suck.

Buffalo lost to its second Florida opponent in as many nights as Tampa Bay defeated them 3-1.

Simon Gagne and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning in the second period to give them a 2-0 lead.

But the 2-goal lead wasn't meant to last for long.

Jason Pominville scored with less than a minute left in the 2nd period to bring the Sabres within a goal at 2-1.

Unfortunately for the Sabres, they could never score the tying goal and went on to lose 3-1.

Martin St. Louis scored an empty net goal with 2 seconds left in the 3rd to cap the game for the Lightning.

St. Louis had 3 points for the Lightning as he had a goal and two assists while Stamkos had 2 points in the game.

Buffalo remains 11th in the East but loses an opportunity to gain ground on Boston.

Attendance: 17,141
Buffalo's Record: 13-16-4 (30 points) 11th in the East
Last 10: 5-4-1
Interesting Note: St. Louis had his 11th multi-point game of the season
Key Fact: Buffalo lost both games on their 2 game Florida road trip
Three Stars:
