Sabres Lose on Late Goal by Panthers

The Sabres nearly pulled off a great comeback. After being down 3-0, the Sabres came all the way back to tie the game only to allow a late 3rd period goal and lose 4-3.

The Sabres got off to an awful start as they trailed 3-0 after the 1st period.

Christopher Higgins scored 2 goals and Stephen Weiss added one as well to give Florida the 3-0 lead.

Then in the 2nd period, the Sabres roared all the way back. Jordon Leopold added his 8th and 9th tallies of the season paired with a Jason Pominville goal to tie the game at 3-3.

With the game tied at 3-3 in the 3rd period, both teams fought for the game leading goal.

Unfortunately for the Sabres, It was Jason Garrison of the Panthers who got the game winning goal. Garrison scored with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd period and the Panthers went on to win 4-3.

The loss is just one of many disappointing results for the Sabres this season. They nearly pulled off a great win only to come up short.

The Sabres get a couple days of rest now as they don't play till December 27th in Calgary when they start their west coast road trip.
