If Ohio ever needed a gimme game to get back their confidence, now was the time. They entered Wednesday night's game vs. St. Francis (PA) coming off a loss vs. IUPUI and had lost three of their last five games. Fortunately for Ohio, they got their gimme game as they defeated St. Francis 87-58.
The game was never really close. It was tied early in the first half for a short period of time at 15-15 but Ohio quickly responded by going on a 12-0 run to take a 27-15 lead.
Late in the first half Ohio went on another massive run scoring 22 of the next 23 points to take a 51-21 lead. St. Francis added a few buckets before the 1st half ended and the game entered halftime with Ohio up 51-25.
In the second half, Ohio played to protect the lead and gave their bench players playing time. They spread their lead as high as 41 when they went ahead 80-39 and went on to win 87-58.
Six players scored in double digits for Ohio as they scored with relative ease against the Red Flash defense.
D.J. Cooper led the way for Ohio with 19 points and 5 assists.
Tommy Freeman followed up Cooper and had a good game recording 15 points and 4 assists while shooting 5-6 behind the arc.
Ivo Baltic, T.J. Hall, and Nick Kellogg all scored in double-digits off the bench.
With the win, Ohio moves to 6-4 and next plays December 18th at St. Bonaventure.
