The University of Buffalo (UB) managed to defeat Army 56-54 despite the great effort of Army forward Jeremy Hence. The game was back and forth throughout neither team lead by more than 9 points.
UB started the game on a 9-0 run but their momentum wasn't meant to last. UB quickly squandered the lead and Army entered the half up 24-22.
Jeremy Hence had a great game for Army recording a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds while UB had more spread out scoring with Zach Filzen and Mitchell Watt leading the way.
Offensive rebounding was important and kept the game closer than it should of been. Army shot miserably from the field but had 20 offensive rebounds. This helped them get numerous second chance points. UB was decent on the glass but not quite up to Army's standards on the day.
The main reason why UB came out with the win was because they were the better shooting team on the day. It sounds cliche "the better shooting team wins the game" but the cliche held true today.
With the win, UB moves to 4-2 and next plays on December 4th at St. Bonaventure.
