If you asked me for one word to describe Canisius's play on Friday night, I would answer "disappointing." Canisius returned home after a four game road trip only to lose to St. Francis (NY) in a blow out 76-58.
The game actually started out well for the Golden Griffins as they got out to an early 11 point lead at 20-9. But the early lead was merely a fluke as Canisius would get man-handled the rest of the game.
The game entered halftime with Canisius down 37-35.
The game quickly got ugly in the second half and Canisius went on to lose 76-58.
Akeem Johnson and Ricky Cadell were a deadly combo for the Terriers on the night.
Johnson had a great shooting performance going off for 21 points and 8 rebounds. Johnson made nearly 80% of his shots going 8-11 from the field.
Cadell was equally deadly on the night going 5-11 from 3 point range on his way to a 20 point night.
Canisius had balanced scoring as four players scored in double digits. The main problem for the Golden Griffins on the night was turnovers. Canisius turned the ball over 19 times and gave St. Francis many free points.
With the loss, Canisius falls to 4-5 and next plays December 19th at Northwestern State.
