Bonnies Take Virginia Tech to OT Before Losing


What is it with St. Bonaventure and overtime lately? St. Bonaventure went to overtime for the 2nd straight game Thursday night vs. Virginia Tech. But this time, they couldn't pull off the win as they lost 76-68 to the Hokies in Rochester, New York.

The Bonnies trailed by as many as 18 points in the 1st half but never gave up. They entered halftime down 41-28.

In the 2nd half, St. Bonaventure was a team on a vengeance as they came all the way back to tie the game.

The game entered overtime tied 65-65. But Virginia Tech was too powerful in the overtime period. They outscored St. Bonaventure 11-3 in OT and went on to win 76-68.

Andrew Nicholson had another good game for the Bonnies with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Conger, Adegboye, and Davenport all added double-digit points for the Bonnies.

For the Hokies, Thursday night was the Jeff Allen & Malcolm Delaney show. They combined for 37 points and really hurt the Bonnies.

With the loss, St. Bonaventure loses a good opportunity at getting a quality non conference win. They fall to 6-4 and next play on December 28th vs. Siena.
