B-Zone College Basketball Update


Niagara and Canisius were in action on Sunday.


Canisius 74, Northwestern St. 86- Elton Frazier scored 22 points as Canisius lost its second straight game on Sunday to Northwestern State. Bench scoring was key in the game as Northwestern State's bench outscored Canisius's bench 56-7. The game was tight in the first half as the Golden Griffins entered halftime only down 3. But they never could take the lead in the second half and went on to lose.

With the loss, Canisius falls to 4-6 and next plays December 22nd at Lamar.


Niagara 71, Central Connecticut State 74- Niagara played tough but it wasn't enough to overcome the Blue Devils on this Sunday. Ken Horton and Robby Ptacek scored 25 and 23 points respectively for Central Connecticut State as they went on to win. Anthony Nelson had a solid game for the Purple Eagles with 24 points but it wasn't enough as Niagara lost for the 8th time this season.

With the loss, Niagara falls to 3-8 and next plays December 22nd vs. Quinnipiac.
