Miller Gets Back To Back Shutouts as Sabres Blank Senators 1-0

Ryan Miller is back to his normal self. After a tough start to a season that has been plagued with injuries, Miller has finally regained his old form and looks like the player who won the Vezina trophy last season. The Sabres needed him to play at the top of his game Saturday as they defeated the Senators 1-0 in a shootout.

There's not much to say about this game other than it was a goaltending battle. No goals were scored in regulation or overtime and the game entered a shootout tied at 0-0.

Ryan Miller had a fantastic game with 32 saves and recorded his second shutout of the season. The shutout is Miller's second in consecutive games. On the other side, Brian Elliot had a fantastic game as well with 31 saves.

Despite the game going into a shootout tied at zero apiece, one goalie had to lose. On this night, Brian Elliot was the unlucky goalie that lost his shutout due to the shootout.

Thomas Vanek was the lone player to score in the shootout and lead the Sabres to the 1-0 victory. Miller stopped all three attempts in the shootout including a clinching save vs. Jason Spezza.

With the win, the Sabres move into a tie for 9th place in the eastern conference with the Carolina Hurricanes. The Sabres next game is Tuesday November 7th at Boston. The game will be live on Versus at 7:00pm.
