Bills-Vikings Preview

If you want to watch a game between two NFL bottom feeders, tune in to the Bills-Vikings game on Sunday.

The Bills enter at 2-9 coming off a heartbreaking loss to Pittsburgh in which Stevie Johnson dropped a pass in the endzone in overtime that would've won the game for the Bills.

The Vikings enter at 4-7 and are coming off a 17-13 win against Washington in Leslie Frazier's coaching debut. Minnesota fired coach Brad Childress following their loss to Green Bay two weeks ago.

This has been a disappointing season for Minnesota. They are coming off a year where they went to the NFC Championship Game. They have talent all over the field but they haven't been able to put the pieces together.

Despite Adrian Peterson having a great season, the offense has struggled due to the poor play of Brett Favre. The defense hasn't lived up to expectations either. They have fallen to 16th in the NFL and allow 21.7 points per game.

Then you have the Bills. They are having their worst season since 2001 when they went 3-13 but oddly, their is a positive vibe about their team. Their offense is performing better than expected and keeping them in games. Despite their 2-9 record, they have lost five games by 5 points or less and four of those games were decided by 3 points or less. The Bills are always in the game no matter who they are playing. They just need to learn how to finish and win close games.

The key to this game will be if the Bills can stop the running game of the Minnesota Vikings. The Bills are last in the NFL in rush defense and Minnesota has one of the best running backs in the NFL in Adrian Peterson (might not play). If Minnesota dominates the line of scrimmage, it should open up the passing game for Brett Favre.

With that being said, I expect Brett Favre to make a few mistakes and cost Minnesota the game. On paper, it looks like Minnesota should win but Favre has been too mistake prone this year. I'm going to pick the Bills to win this in a close high scoring game.

Prediction: Bills 28-27
