B-Zone College Basketball Update

On Saturday, UB, St. Bonaventure, Niagara, and Syracuse were all in action.

For the second time this week, we had a Big 4 rivalry game take place as Niagara traveled to Olean to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.

Green Bay 64, Buffalo 78- Byron Mulkey and Zach Filzen both went for 21 points as UB cruised to an easy victory over Green Bay. The game was never really close as UB was in control throughout.

The win gives UB a 2 game winning streak and puts their record at 6-3. UB now has a long break as they won't play till December 30th when their at home against #21 BYU.

Niagara 69, St. Bonaventure 61- Both teams came into this game having different types of seasons and coming off different types of results. St. Bonaventure entered at 5-2 after defeating Big East opponent St. John's while Niagara entered at 2-7 coming off a loss to Big 4 rival Buffalo. You would've thought that St. Bonaventure would've won today. I guess things don't always go the way they seem.

With the win, Niagara moves to 3-7 and next plays December 19th at Central Connecticut State University. St. Bonaventure moves to 5-3 with the loss and next plays on December 18th at home against Ohio University.

Colgate 43, Syracuse 100- The only way to describe this game was that it was the ultimate blowout. Syracuse held Colgate to only 8 points in the 1st half on their way to a 100-43 win. 17 players played for Syracuse in a game which saw Syracuse's backups play more minutes then their starters.

With the win, Syracuse moves to 10-0 and next plays December 18th vs. Iona.
