B-Zone College Basketball Update


On Wednesday, Ohio, Syracuse, and St. Bonaventure were all in action.

Wednesday Games

Ohio 79, Akron 70- Nick Kellogg's 23 points led Ohio to their first conference win of the season. DJ Cooper had a terrific game as he nearly had a triple-double with 13 points, 15 assists, and 8 rebounds.

Ohio moves to 8-8 (1-1) with the win and next plays Saturday at home vs. Kent State.


#4 Syracuse 76, St. John's 59- Balanced scoring by Syracuse's starters combined with great shooting and defense led the Cuse to a relatively easy win over St. John's. Rick Jackson had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kris Joseph added another 18 points.

With the win, Syracuse moves to 17-0 (4-0) and next plays January 15th vs. Cincinnati.


St. Bonaventure 55, #23 Temple 83- An awful offensive showing derailed the Bonnies from the beginning as they got blown out against Temple. St. Bonaventure shot only 35.8% from the field for the game. Andrew Nicholson struggled as he only had 12 points and 2 rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

With the loss, St. Bonaventure falls to 9-6 (1-1) and next plays January 16th at Rhode Island.

On Thursday, Buffalo was in action

Buffalo 67, Miami(ohio) 70- Javon McCrea's 26 points off the bench wasn't enough for UB as they lost their 2nd straight MAC game on the road against Miami(ohio). UB had a chance to tie the game as time expired but Zach Filzen missed the attempted 3-pointer.

With the loss, UB falls to 8-6 (0-2) and next plays January 16th vs. Akron.
