Week 12 Big East Football Preview

As the Big East schedule comes near its end, five teams are still vying for the much coveted BCS bid that comes with a conference championship. Currently, Pittsburgh is in first at 3-1 in conference play but many teams are close behind. Here is this weekends slate of Big East games.

Pittsburgh 5-4(3-1) @ South Florida 6-3(3-2)
12:00 ESPN 2

This is the Big East game of the week. South Florida enters this game on a roll after winning three straight Big East games to match Pittsburgh's Big East win total. A win for South Florida could put them in a tie for first place and allow other teams such as Syracuse to jump back into contention. Pittsburgh enters this game after losing a disappointing game to UCONN. Pittsburgh needs to win this game for momentum's sake and to hold off every body on their back.

This game looked like a lock for Pittsburgh on the schedule just a few weeks ago but with the way Pittsburgh lost to UCONN and how USF has recovered as of late, this is anything but a lock. With that being said I still expect Pittsburgh to win in a low scoring defensive battle and keep there lead in the Big East.

Big East Standings
1. Pittsburgh 3-1
2. Syracuse 4-2
3. South Florida 3-2
4. UCONN 2-2
5. West Virginia 2-2
6. Louisville 2-3
7. Rutgers 1-3
8. Cincinnati 1-3
