Talk about a bad day for Ohio University sports. The football team disappointed us by getting upset by Kent State. Then, their basketball team played even worse when they lost to Kansas 98-41. We knew that they probably weren't going to beat #6 Kansas. We just wanted them to be competitive for a little while.
Ohio was never in the game from the beginning. Kansas forward Marcus Morris lit up the Bobcats for 26 points and guard Travis Releford added 13 off the bench for the red hot Jayhawks. Kansas got off to a fast start and entered the half up 43-20.
It got even worse in the second half when Kansas outscored Ohio 55-21. Then, to make matters worse, Ohio guard Ricardo Johnson got ejected from the game for his flagrant foul. There were no bright spots in the game for Ohio. D.J. Cooper had 16 points but had no assists and a few turnovers. Ohio's play was just flat ugly as they lost 98-41.
