Ohio University defeated Texas A&M Corpus Christi 83-70 Sunday afternoon at home. Ohio got off to a poor start getting down 5-0 early but that was about the only time they struggled. After the first media timeout, Ohio Head Coach John Groce inserted DeVaughn Washington and Nick Kellogg into the lineup. With them in, Ohio went on a 13-0 run to take a 13-5 lead. Ohio then extended their lead to 18 entering the half up 44-26. Ohio played ball control offense during the second half and managed the game well. The game never got closer than 11 in the second half and Ohio eased to victory.
Scoring was spread out through Ohio's lineup as Ivo Baltic, Reggie Keely, DeVaughn Washington, and Nick Kellogg all scored in double digits. Baltic added 9 rebounds to his 12 points and D.J. Cooper had 12 assists in the game. Ohio University moves to 2-1 with the win and Texas A&M Corpus Christi falls to 1-3 with the loss.
